A headstone carved in the classic gothic manner. Don't see those much anymore... ::sigh::
Artist's Rant: Honestly, I know this is a decent picture, but folks have been adding this piece like nobody's business. I have many other cemetery pictures that I would consider better.
If you like this piece, please check out the rest of my gallery. PLEASE.
Thankyou. I used to play in that cemetary all the time when I was very little, so it's not too creepy for me, but it is a mysterious place, just as you say.
I love the setting. Brings me back to being a kid wandering the cemetery next door for boredom. It is rare to see those types of headstones (especially around here). The main problem, from what I've seen, is that many of those stones are too thin and they erode quickly in the brutal climate up around Minnesota and Wisconsin. After about two hundred years they just turn to dust and topple over, names erased, dates lost.
I've seen many interesting headstones in my wanders. Best I've seen is a cemetery in Ohio where the person built an obelisk with at the top a stone recliner built where the tip would be. I just had this overwhelming sense to climb it and sit up there but figured finding a way to climb a smooth stone surface thirty some feet up would be difficult. Plus I think the owner might still be sitting there, in spirit, watching over the road nearby.

The doctor keeps telling me that knives are not suppose to stick in you like that, but I tell him he's never enjoyed the thrilling world of razorblade diving at the rust pit.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
